The leader of Laios's party, with plenty of 'dungeoneering' experience (note: We also have no idea what this so-called 'dungeon' is). While his background is uncertain, his contributions are obvious, as he is always able to offer combat support during field operations.

Oh! This machine carries people's voices straight over, and l can talk back to them too! That 'photocopier' over there can produce exact replicas of anything painted on paper... Is my job to learn to use all of them? I'd love to know how they work!
Do you like the brined sandworm, Kay? How about this gloompincer mushroom pâté? Just as good? I've got garlic fin shiokara here, do you like that too? I'm so glad I meet you here! Come on, let's look for more new mon—whaaagh?! Vulcan? What are you doing? Where are you taking me?!
Doctor! I'm behind this door! The little room next to you! I need your help, Mon3tr's sick... it's not eating anything I feed it. Do you have any ideas? What? But Dr. Kal'tsit saw how good friends we were and asked me to look after it for her. What do you mean she was keeping me shut in here? You're lying, right?
Orchid said a big flick on the forehead of whoever steps out of line is how you manage your party members, but Fang told me really earnestly that it should start with living up to your leadership responsibilities. Then they made me talk about what I think matters most in a leader. To tell the truth... I think what matters most is that everyone can trust each other.
Monsters have talons so they can hunt, and look cute so they can trick adventurers. By observing how monsters act, you get to know them. They always put themselves on full display, while humans are nothing like them... I'm more of a fan of monsters after all.
When I was young, I once got possessed by a spirit. Falin was the one who banished it, but because of that, our neighbors shunned her, and our father even kicked her out of the village. Later on, she ran away from school and went to the dungeon with me, but I couldn't protect her like I should have... I'm going to rescue her. I will rescue her.
Be careful, Elysium gave me this Liberi egg to look after. He told me it'll hatch in a few days—oooh! It's doing it, it's hatching! A little damp chick just popped out! Is this what Liberi look like when they're young? What's so funny, Doctor... Elysium was playing a prank on me?
Marcille always hates eating monsters, and Chilchuck once got betrayed by his own party... I was fully resolved to save Falin all on my own, and yet they still decided to stick with me despite everything. I'm really grateful to them for that.
I never imagined there'd be anyone except Senshi, but so many operators are interested in monsters! Plus, they want to come with me and see what it's like in the dungeon. If we have the ability to teleport back and forth, I bet Falin will want to visit as well and make friends with you all, and then we'll go on a tour around Terra!
Laios claims to hail from a place called the Northern Continent. His party members also reference places like Izganda and the Eastern Continent, none of which we recognize. Our records have come up empty, so all we can do is document these names for now. Perhaps they are an incredibly skilled theater troupe touring the land with elaborately designed backstories. Or maybe these places are extremely remote, and they have been drifting across Terra until they stumbled upon Rhodes Island. They lack much common knowledge about things everyone here is familiar with, such as Arts and nomadic cities. Their amazement at our cafeteria suggests life has been very harsh for them. Perhaps this explains why they excel in fighting and survival in the wild, even in unfamiliar environments. They have a remarkable caster, surveyor, and logistics-slash-combat specialist in their squad. Laios, their leader, seems quite average by comparison, perhaps even a bit dim-witted. Yet, given how much his team trusts him, he might possess hidden talents of his own?
Rhodes Island Monthly Accounting Report Laios Damaged Engineering equipment while chasing a metal crab aboard the ship: -40,000 7 counts of medical treatment for food poisoning: -2000 Damage to Convalescent Garden equipment: -30,000 Purchase of equipment and supplies: -2000 Additional food and drink expenditure: -5000 Damage to the central cafeteria kitchen after attempting to cook high-energy organisms, resulting in an explosion (including treatment costs for many other operators): -47,000 Wages for missions: +5000 6 complaints lodged against operator: -2000 from wages Payment for supplying research materials on Terran wildlife: +10,000 Special operator allowance: +1000 All values in LMD; operators can choose to pay/be paid an equal value in other currencies. Remarks for this month: Operator Laios has not yet paid off his debt from last month. This is a new entry for this month.
During his time aboard Rhodes Island, Laios has shown considerable ability during field missions. While his basic combat skills do not match our top operators, he can quickly identify the traits and weaknesses of any wildlife. He also possesses impressive courage, often taking the first step in encounters, and quick thinking when resolving crises. According to operators who have gone on missions with him, Laios's keen ability to analyze wildlife stems from his boundless curiosity. He is constantly observing and learning about creatures, meticulously keeping notes. When facing an unfamiliar creature, he rapidly consults his internal catalog of similar animals to pinpoint their weak points. It seems that he was already a wildlife fanatic in his hometown, although they refer to creatures as 'monsters' for some reason. However, numerous complaints have accompanied his performance records. Laios is often distracted by unfamiliar creatures during lulls in combat, requiring other operators to keep his strange behavior in check. Many crises he resolves are in fact caused by his own curiosity. Additionally, he frequently invites operators to join his observations and experiments, causing headaches for many team captains despite their urging him to stop. Laios has also shown a deep interest in our operators themselves while aboard the landship. His curiosity about their physical features has led to chaotic incidents. Though Marcille and others managed to tie him up and issue a formal apology, many operators remain traumatized and now require regular counseling sessions. Even Mon3tr has not escaped his observations; his daring touch earned him a vicious beating. Remarkably, when carted into Medical afterwards, he still wore a satisfied smile. In a sense, Laios may be the most dangerous person aboard Rhodes Island.

La Pluma5★ · GuardHuh, I think Kensuke's asleep as well... So adorable…
I noticed! You're interested in cooking monsters too, aren't you? I have sandworm & needlefly meatballs here, do you wanna try some?
These monsters just get neater and neater...
Thank you for letting me on! Excuse me, Doctor, is there some reason I haven't met any operators lately? ...What? They filed complaints against me? For getting too much plumage and fur from them? They think I'm weird? I—I just wanted to make a collection of specimens—
I totally grasp how to get along with the operators here now, and I'm confident I'll blend in with everyone soon. Here are some seven-headed, super-undefeatable monster figures made by myself, and I'll send them out later to make up for everything.
Weapons, armor, medicine, food, cookware, sleeping pads... We don't need the sleeping pads? Oh, alright.
Got it. I'll perform my duty.
Yup, my belly's nice and full. Everything's gonna be fine this time.
Whoa! Kensuke's shaking!
What are your monsters like here?
It'd be great if we could encounter a new species.
Let me check for any carnivorous monster dung...
The terrain here is totally different to the dungeon...
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! RAAH! RAAAAGH!!
Ahh, I have to note down everything we learned today. Terra's got so many kinds of monsters...!
Senshi, are those monsters edible?
Cheer up, Doctor. Just watch, we'll succeed next time.
Fighting on an empty stomach is a recipe for party wipes...
Alright, let's ask Chilchuck to map out this place!
...Kensuke?
This metal crab can't right itself. Look, it's sooo cute.
Arknights.
When Marcille was taking our photograph just now, she left a spot next to her for Falin. I wonder what kind of souvenir I should get her... How about this needlefly pâté? Really, you don't think so? You don't understand. This is made from a monster from another world!
I have a shiny mouth...? Right, I just ate a fluorescent Originium Slug gummy.
I wasn't sure what kind of birthday cake I should buy you, but then the instant I saw it, I had to get it—it's a dragon cake! See? The strawberry jam on it is like its flame breath! Isn't that super cool?
They say so long as you defeat the Lunatic Magician of the dungeon, all that lies within is yours. When I was in the depths before, I wasn't thinking at all about why I was down there, or what it was that I truly wanted... but meeting you all made me realize just what it's like to have a goal in life.
While Laios is clearly sharp and attentive when observing wildlife, his interpersonal skills can only be described as 'disastrous'. He is extremely poor at picking up on subtle social cues and body language, often imposing his own obsessions onto others while failing to notice their tactful rejections. Countless incidents have occurred where operators tried to stop his 'creative ideas' involving wildlife, but all to no avail. They can only watch helplessly as he stomps into a huge nest of wild metal crabs or 'Pompeii's' lair. Though he always seems rather regretful afterward, everyone knows it won't stop him the next time he gets a wild idea. One memorable incident led to a unique friendship between an operator and Marcille after they gave Laios a joint dressing-down. That night, while writing up the mission report, the operator heard Marcille's perspective: though Laios isn't good with people, he is still a kind, upstanding young man who has never accepted injustice. When his sister was treated unfairly, he threw away his position as a lord's heir and left home. Out of a sense of responsibility, he has always supported his former party members financially while they were injured. During his travels across Terra, Laios has encountered many people who survive by fair or foul means. When it comes to determining right from wrong, his heart may have long known the answer. After learning of Rhodes Island's mission and the challenges it faces, he quickly became fond of our organization and the operators striving to make our goals a reality, gladly counting himself as one of us.
Slowly, we begin to understand why Laios is the leader of his squad and why they trust him so much. It's not due to any so-called wisdom or leadership (it would be more accurate to say he completely lacks those qualities) but rather because he always calmly considers their next moves and pulls his weight in doing his part. He understands how dangerous an unknown creature can be, so at critical moments, he remains the calmest of all. Why have I written him such a favorable report? It seems that I, just like the rest of his party, have also seen the appeal of this 'leader' of theirs. Addendum: Damn you, Laios! The fool noticed some rare variant of Originium slug on a mission and sneaked it into his rucksack. It managed to escape after his return to the landship, and now Logistics is in complete disarray. To whoever is reading this, know that just when you think Laios is a decent guy worth your trust, he'll do something unexpectedly maddening.
