• Appointed as AssistantIt's been a long time since I've felt like there was any conviction or meaning in my work. Rather than sit through show trial after show trial, I prefer to wade through these thorny, complicated files.

• Talk 1You don't have to tiptoe around me. I don't judge good or evil on any ironclad law. And with all the crimes staged in the name of order… Ah, pay no mind to this judge's grumble, a powerless judge waiting to be indicted for misconduct in office.

• Talk 2The thorns on this codex? Yes, of course the spikes hurt, but I wish for the pain to remind me: No matter how weak the statutes in Siracusa, no matter how highly I think of my calling, perversion of justice and blasphemy against the law are crimes.

• Talk 3They say 'the law is the basis of morality,' but that's not a natural truth. It emerges from a consensus of the people. When the people come to see violence as order, the law is nothing but a fantasy to dream of. And I, as the keeper of that fantasy, am the most ridiculous of all.

• Talk after Promotion 1In Siracusa, being a city court judge is a dangerous job. Either you join 'them,' or... you disappear. I thought I could strike a balance between the two, but there's no way to stay clean when you're surrounded by mud. In the end, I was just another accomplice.
