Medjehtiqedti, Curator of Varjavandabad Museum. Only her friends can call her 'Titi'. Currently works with Rhodes Island as a field operator, and strives to repair relations between Sargon and Minos.

Help you with work? Sure. Does that mean I can set Rhodes Island's course? There's a tribe nearby just about to hold an unusual ceremony, and I was thinking of going to see—I can't? Why not…? It'll barely be a detour…
This thing on my bangs? Yes, it's a relic. Its original use was most likely as a buckle. It was just sitting there in my family's storehouse with nobody to see it, so I took a page out of the Columbians' book and stuck it in my hair like sunglasses. See, even antiques can be fashionable.
Historical relics aren't the only thing the museum puts on display. As long as an exhibit broadens the visitors' horizons, it's a good exhibit, right? You nodded! Good, because I've got this proposal for you—drumroll please: The Life of a Sarkaz Boiler Worker! If you see no problem with it, then sign here!
Psychology, architecture, artifact appraisal and restoration, exhibit design and crowd dynamics… Museum studies require me to understand these things, and I do. But I'm not a master of any of them? Well, sure, but a decent understanding is enough for my work, and I'm also always learning new things…
My family's fortunes had waned by the time my father's generation came around, so we're nowhere near as illustrious as Pepe or Anat's families. Now I see that as a blessing. I could have gone to study in Columbia, as I wanted, just as I've come to Rhodes Island. If you need me to do anything, just say it straight, no need to beat around the bush like you do with those two.
'In Sargon, Padishahs are as numerous as the stars in the sky; anyone who feels like it can reach out and grab one.' That's my favorite quote from the Thieving Padishah Merit—No, no, I'm not saying I want to be one, I just think her 'I want it so I'll go do it' attitude is super-cool, you know?
Doctor! DOCTOR! Quick, there's no time to explain! Help me write a description for this artifact from the South Sargon Marshland Tribal Customs exhibit! Huh? You can't describe something you know nothing about? Whoa… So there are things you don't know… Alright, new plan, I do the writing now, and you check if what I've written makes sense.
I know Mio's no ordinary Feline Beast Steward… and you're no ordinary human either, Doctor. That's all right. You can keep hiding your identities, I'll still be friends with you both. Of course, if you ever feel like sharing your 'secrets', I'd be happy to lend you an ear.
Operator Titi almost immediately became integrated into the Rhodes Island community. Her adventure began as soon as she parted ways with the HR operator who showed her the main facilities. There was hardly a corner of Rhodes Island that she didn't explore. After dining at the cafeteria, she exchanged a rare photocopy of an old Vine-Bead Court cookbook for Operator Matterhorn's collection of Kjeragi recipes. While visiting the Engineering Department, she expertly repaired an important part using glue meant for relic restoration. She even wandered into the mobility layer, making friends with the Sarkaz boiler workers on her first day. As we got to know her, however, we grew even more perplexed. The seemingly insignificant accessories she wears are in fact valuable ancient relics, which she seems to treat with complete nonchalance. Her white ribbon in particular is more than decorative: driven by Originium Arts, it practically serves as an extra arm, allowing her to grab distant objects, and move or support herself during activities such as climbing. It is also a medium for her to take notes, record her discoveries and data, or even act as a cheat sheet for public speaking. We soon learned that, while making friends with Titi is easy, truly getting to know her is a different story. [Weapon Evaluation] Titi's staff stands in contrast to her short stature. At her checkup, we immediately found that the staff amplified her Arts considerably. The antiques she wears and the classical design of the staff gave us the impression that it was a family heirloom passed down through generations, but she had in fact designed and assembled it herself. Titi says that its design was inspired by ancient Sargonian artifacts. The scarab sealed inside a piece of golden amber in the middle represents eternal life and resurrection, an ancient symbol dating back to Lugalszargus, the 'Shah of Past and Future,' making it an ideal fit for her conservation Arts. Our discussion turned into an impromptu semiotics lecture, as at one point we thought the symbol represented some kind of power boost Arts, a misconception that she soon dispelled. 'Power boost? Oh, that's because of the seven amplifiers I installed on the staff, on the ring around the amber.'
Operator Titi's time in Minos clearly left a deep impression on her, but when we asked for her thoughts on the trip, her answer was not what we expected. 'For a long time I've been thinking about a question, one that my mother and teachers have asked me as well: where will my curiosity take me? 'The incident at the museum planted the seed of an idea in my mind, and the journey to Minos made it sprout. My curiosity about history, society and how it works, science and how it develops ultimately comes from a desire to learn the reasons behind things, the things that shape us and our society, and make us who we are today. 'Having visited Athenius, I now know that stories of heroes form the roots of Minos, the desires of all Minoans converging upon the concept of 'hero'. What about us? What are the roots of Sargon, and what is our common goal, our shared aspiration? I'm afraid I don't know the answer, yet. 'But I think I'll find the answer one day, when I've gained sufficient knowledge. Or when the day comes that I visit the ancient city with over a thousand years of history.'

Tippi5★ · SpecialistClose your eyes, get in the car, and come with me! It's hot? Enough complaining. Okay, you can open your eyes now. Look at this desert expanse. This is where the Shah set out on his expedition. Who knows? The wind might uncover some of the footprints he left behind. Don't speak, Doctor, or you'll disturb the flow of time…
Nothing to do… Hmm… Why not try to sleep standing up like I hear Pallas can…? Zzz… Zzz… Ow! My head! That hurts!
Hello, Doctor, my name is rather tricky, so you may call me Titi, like all my friends do—but what you call me isn't important. I'm here to prepare my museum's new special exhibit. Are you and Rhodes Island interested in participating?
Hmm, these are something like the artifact restoration tutorials I watched in Columbia. It looks easy when someone else does it, but the moment you try it yourself, you realize you have no idea where to even start.
This is a Rhodes Island promotion? Using ancient investiture ceremonies in modern business management… Fascinating. I could try something like this in my museum.
I feel like I could go even higher from here—Wait, what do you mean this is the peak?
There's some new artifacts that need to go into storage, shall we go see?
Okay, everyone have a look at the plan—It's different from yesterday's? Well, I just now got a new idea. So? Any issues?
Let's go, time to see what new stories this round of relics has to tell us.
We're in the storeroom, so everyone tread a little lightly, okay?
Cleaning, conservation, repairing, restoration, I can do it all.
Just relax and leave it to me.
Remember, patience makes perfect.
Easy does it.
Brush off the dirt, revealing the rich tones of the pottery glaze.
Remove the mold, restoring the flexibility of the fabric.
Clear away the crust, returning the marble sculpture to its full glory.
Phew! No new ceramic artifacts coming in? Not much for me to do, then.
This is from a much older period than we thought. You sometimes find a major discovery like this when tidying up the storeroom. Let's celebrate with a big cup of tangerine sahlab!
And that's storage sorted. If we made a themed exhibit out of these items, the tourists would be happy to queue for at least two hours.
It's fine. I'll help you mend it with epoxy and touch up the seam. You won't even notice.
I was exhausted the moment I got out the door. Today's really not a good day for work. I'll do it tomorrow.
You have much more… intriguing furniture than I thought. Is there some sort of theming to it all?
Hey, I saw that. Your itchy finger was trying to pull my straps.
You want me to go shopping with you? Alright, I'll have a mango and carob slushie, with crushed nuts on top. Oh, and a hibiscus juice too. And it's on you, right?
Arknights.
Happy New Year. Want to try some fermented carrot cakes? All the rage in southern Rim Billiton. A Cautus patient in the infirmary gave me some, said it's how they celebrate the new year. Don't want one? It smells weird? Eh, a little I guess, but that's no reason not to try it.
Oh, Doctor. Did you also come to this corner of the bridge for a view of the city? Come, stand right here, this angle's spectacular!
Happy birthday, Doctor. Here, I found this while tidying up the family storeroom. It used to be an ornament for a chariot, but you can take it to keep your hood buckled, no matter how hard the wind blows. The moment I saw it, I knew it was meant for you.
The wear and tear on an artifact are proof that its former owner once lived. We're the same… So long as our brains are running and limbs moving, we'll leave our own marks on the land. Those who come after will bear witness.
[A Trimounts University Transcript] Museum Design: A- Instructor Comments: Student demonstrates a thorough understanding of modern museology theory, as well as a mind open enough to effectively implement new media to enrich the exhibition experience. Can sometimes be overly fixated on new forms, in particular conceptual interaction designs advocated by the Columbia Art and Design Center, leading to the exhibition's content being overshadowed by the presentation. Archaeological Analysis and Technology: A- (Joint course with Trimounts Academy of Technology) Instructor Comments: Student demonstrates high proficiency in technological methods for analyzing the materials and techniques of relics. Occasionally prone to spur-of-the-moment ideas, resulting in outlandish experiments, and insists on analyzing the failed results. Conservation and Restoration: A- Instructor Comments: Student demonstrates excellent grasp of conservation and restoration techniques for relics of various materials. Capable of independently coming up with restoration proposals for working with heavily damaged artifacts, plans that are often risky, but the results have generally exceeded expectations. The only issue being occasional violations of lab rules and protocols—do not use the lab's specially blended glue to stick your classmate's shoe soles back on! ... The transcript is a long one, with far more credits on it than needed to graduate. It includes her compulsory coursework, subjects tangentially connected to her major like international history, languages, art history, architecture, and folklore, but also courses like 'Ingredient Analysis of Sami Herbal Remedies', 'Principles of Automated Flying Machine Control', and 'Literary Analysis of Flowers of Quinde and Kerespereia', taken for reasons unknown. Even more surprising is that she got an 'A-' in most of her coursework and excelled academically by any definition, yet had very few full marks in any of her courses: the instructors usually docked her points here and there for unusual reasons. Titi did not seem especially concerned with her grades—what mattered more to her was whether the course was interesting, and her definition of an interesting course was very different from others. While most look for variety, lively pacing, and humor, she judges courses by whether they satisfy her curiosity and stimulate her desire to explore further. 'I went to Columbia because I thought it would be fun. I had just graduated from school in Menat-Ha'mait when a Columbian merchant showed up with a bunch of newfangled things and told me that Trimounts University accepted students from all over Terra. It made me want to check it out for myself. I didn't think much about the distance from Menat-Ha'mait to Trimounts, or how I was actually going to get accepted and enroll. I just thought I would cross that bridge when I got there.'
Operator Titi describes her younger self as a 'free range wild child'. Her father was known as a ne'er-do-well amongst Menat-Ha'mait's nobility, having no interest in fame or fortune, only literature, and in particular in collecting books brought back to Sargon from occupied Minos. Never in great health, he fell ill when Titi was young and virtually stopped leaving the house altogether. To Titi, her father was like a plant that grew on the chair of his study. He would tell her stories if she went to find him, and if she did not, he did not concern himself with what she was doing. As such, she enjoyed more freedom than most noble children. She had plenty of room to explore, think, and imagine, and to reveal the laws and truth behind what she saw, what she was interested in. Her conclusions were not necessarily correct, and her ideas young and naive, but she had arrived at them on her own. The process of thinking helped her build trust in her own judgment, taught her how to obtain the information she wanted, and opened doors to new horizons. It took a long time for her to understand that there were many things that did not need to be said. How to explore, how to study, how to defuse hostility, how to help friends, how to find one's path forward, how to commit to what one thinks should be done... she had already learned all these things from the stories her father told her, and her mother's tacit approval and indulgence. [Book Excerpt] ...And so the silent Siopi returned to his homeland, but still he never spoke. 'You are friendly and outgoing. You never know if you might accidentally reveal the secret you are trying to keep in conversation.' The safest way, therefore, was to never speak. Once full of vigor and spirit when he left home, the young man now shut himself away, shunned contact with others, and died as silently as he lived. It was only a long time later, when the news of victory came from afar, that his fellows learned the secret he carried, and thus he became known as Siopi, the Silent Hero. —Excerpt from Vol.3 of Minoan Heroic Legends, New Edition, 1101, Varjavandabad Museum Press [Book Review] Scholars are excited about the publication of Minoan Heroic Legends, New Edition, and for good reason. Mr. Khnum Nasutu Mashayer has long been known for his extensive collection of Minoan literature, and this six-volume collection, totaling more than three thousand pages, is more than just a compilation of the famous legends collected in the Mashayer Archives and their many variations, but also of rare oral traditions that he personally collected during his time in Minos. It is a landmark in scholarship that will undoubtedly be cited by researchers for decades to come. It is perhaps also worth noting that the publication of this work was sponsored by Mr. Mashayer's widow, and it was compiled and edited by their daughter. This is itself something of a legend.
We initially thought that the entity known as 'Mio' who accompanies Operator Titi was simply an ordinary Feline Beast Steward, although in hindsight there were certainly telling signs. Mio is very similar to Titi in its sociability, and its investigation of Rhodes Island took place concurrently with Titi's explorations. Mio quickly found its turf, claiming the best fresh fin belly from the cafeteria every morning, as well as a cushion on the sunniest spot on the bridge, though it does not visit every day. Other operators claim to occasionally see a small, strange-looking Feline who often accompanies Titi, at times getting her out of tight spots, while at others getting into arguments with her, like two close yet bickering friends. This has led to us theorizing about Mio's true nature... by now, we have grown rather familiar with such beings. For now, at least, there seems to be little cause for concern, since Mio's intervention has been limited to providing occasional assistance to Titi and filling its own stomach. [Classified Log] Hey, I picked the girl myself, I can't very well let her fend for herself. I like her personality, and she's not burdened by stuff like legacy or history, like so many other humans. Getting out of the Grand Bazaar wasn't easy, and I'd like nothing more than to have some real free time with nothing to worry about, but I guess the girl's not gonna stay put. She and that damn curiosity of hers. Yeah, I know where she wants to go, but the depths of the desert is just not a nice place. The old Shah... yes, interesting fellow. Woof and I liked him, but his one-time dream, his discoveries in the south, his invincible army, and all his outlandish ideas, have all been twisted beyond recognition. As for the current Shahanshah, the lion who has lain low in the depths of the desert for many years... Has his silence and inaction been by choice, or has something happened to that ancient city in the sands, something beyond the control of puny humans? I don't know, and I don't particularly care to know. Frankly, I would prefer not to return to Shar-Agade, if I had a choice. You're an interesting one too, Doctor... There are many of my kind here. I know they are uneasy too. It's a fresh, unfamiliar feeling, and I don't like it one bit.
