Chat Records: History Enthusiast
Q: You know, I'm really into history, and many things about Hongshan pique my interest. I've got some questions in mind. Take the name "Tianshi Bureau Academy" as an example, based on what I've found about Yan, why didn't they just call it "Tianshi Bureau"?
A: Back then, Hongshan Academy of Sciences (HAS) was founded under the Yan system as the "Affiliated Hongshan Academy of Sciences of Tianshi Bureau of Great Yan". Later, it expanded into five Scientific Developmental Districts, with new schools established in each. Naturally, they couldn't just call it "Hongshan Tianshi Bureau", since a subordinate unit couldn't just set up its own superior. That's why the Tianshi added "Academy" to the name, creating the "Tianshi Bureau Academy" — a new branch that remained under HAS's management.
Q: I see...
A: It's all about following the rules. The "Wuling Tianshi Bureau Academy" was set up temporarily with nothing more than a plaque on the District Office. "Guandai" literally means "acting in management." Back then, the Chief Reviewer Tianshi submitted all those reports to the imperial court, and they're still in the archives. Once the Cosmic Gate opens, they'll be sent to Terra.
Q: Wow, that's complicated! So there's a "Wuling Tianshi Bureau Academy" but no "Hongshan Tianshi Bureau"?
A: Right. But there is "Headquarters Tianshi Bureau".
Q: My head... Hasn't anyone ever used it incorrectly?
A: Plenty of people have! But as long as the rules are followed by those who matter, it's fine... No worries, just take your time.
............
Q: If I remember right, Materials Science is the strongest field at the Tianshi Bureau Academy, right? And Agronomy comes next? That's kinda surprising. I don't think I've ever heard of any big agricultural breakthroughs from there.
A: Tell me, since when has any of Hongshan's agronomy programs been weak?
Q: You have a point...
Q: So where do you learn your Thunder Arts? Is it a type of Originium Arts?
A: Wuling doesn't have a dedicated Thunder Arts program. People who want to learn it usually start from a young age. It's actually pretty easy to pick up, but hard to master. As for formal study, yeah, it's categorized under Originium Arts.
