Stragglers Grove & Grovenymphs
The Stragglers Grove form a distinctive ecological landscape surrounding Wuling City.
Outwardly, the Stragglers Grove appear as a monobotanical ecosystem, an unremarkable bamboo forest. This illusion initially deceived ecological Tianshi from Wuling Science Station, until monitoring devices placed deep within the woods repeatedly appeared outside the grove. After thorough investigation, the Tianshi reached a definitive conclusion: it wasn't the devices moving, but the grove itself.
The Tianshi discovered that beneath the Grove's soil, a native Talos-II insect species had formed a symbiotic relationship with the bamboo. These insects replaced the plants' tangled rhizome systems, sharing water and nutrients with the bamboo growing on their backs. When stimulated by external factors, they burrow through the ground to relocate. During massive Blight Tide seasons, they collectively migrate to higher ground. Hongshan Academy of Sciences' ecological Tianshi named this species the "Wuling Grove Rhizome-Weaver", commonly called "Grovenymphs".
The Stragglers Grove and their grovenymphs provide living specimens for Talos-II's flora and fauna research. To this day, the Tianshi of HAS maintain deep fascination with this remarkable symbiosis and its startling parallels to Terran ecosystems.
