Easygoing Miscellany
(This miscellany is a record of a Chef's achievements. The power of Si's painting probably made it smell like delicious food. You cannot help but feel hungry.)
THREE spices are essential for cooking. THREE cookbooks are essential for your kitchen.
And these are: "Bistro Recipes"; "Make Some Chow"; and "Everyday Family Meals".
"Bistro Recipes" is a must-read for anyone who intends to make a living from food services and catering.
"Make Some Chow" is more practical and covers a huge range of ingredients. The recipes are not gourmand-grade, but will really make you full.
"Everyday Family Meals" is a work for someone cooking for a family of three or four. It's the one book to keep them happy and eating.
All three cookbooks were written by the same author. He left no name, but simply called himself the "Lil' Chef".
But everyone who read the cookbooks knew a true master at once. No one in his trade was ever his equal.
After the first centennial of the Talosian Calendar, people started addressing him as "Lil' Chef Maestro".
Despite our immense hatred for the Aggeloi, nobody ever tried to eat them to sate their fires of fury.
Aggeloi do come in all sizes, shapes, and forms. It's just that none of them looked edible.
So what was on that Lil' Chef's mind when he decided to slice up one of them, and then swore that he would find a way to make them delicious?
Just look at what the Aggeloi are made out of! Grit! Mud! Water!
They might be poisonous! Or they might contain stuff that transforms us into Aggeloi! And that's even worse!
BY TALOS! He's tasting it! Look at his friggin' face! What's that weird expression?! Can it actually be edible?!
No! Don't give me that! It looks like puke! I'm not eating it!
Oh okay. Fine ... I'll take a bite...
Hmm...
GIMME MOAR!
We're now looking at the most famous destination of this region! The legendary — Fine Broth Spring.
It is said when they invited Lil' Chef Maestro to assess the research of the local Nongye Tianshi, he decided to catch a free-range fowl to make a feast for everyone.
Unfortunately, that poor fowl happened to be the subject of a local disciple's thesis. Semesters of hard work ended up as a bowl of delicious food.
To compensate the poor kid, Lil' Chef Maestro took what was left of the fowl and started a joint project with the Tianshi disciple. The beautiful Spring we now see is the result of their efforts.
A draw of Fine Broth Spring tastes like plain old water at first. But when used in cooking, it heightens the savoriness of the ingredients. Everyone's welcome to ladle a serving and try it out in the kitchen afterwards.
Oh? What happened to that unfortunate disciple?
You probably missed the first part of the story. That disciple grew up and became our, uh, late Director. He passed away a few years ago. We laid him to rest in the back hills.
Yes. Exactly. Director Nong.
Wait, hold on. I never mentioned our Director's name. How did you —?
Hey. Where did he go?
