Page: Torn from a Diary
My woman started asking about my retirement.
Told her it'd be soon. Once they retire this batch of outdated Tianshi Pillars, I can finally rest my creaky old bones.
Old lady believed none of it. Said I told her the same thing two years ago.
I knew she's kinda right. I'm not educated like the Research Labs scientists or Records Hall staff. I wouldn't know when the Pillars would retire. So I just told her I'll be quitting next year. Probably.
Truth be told I actually had a chance to retire. But people gotta have dreams, you know. An ordinary man like me just want to see the Blight cleaned up for good.
A lot of people, my woman included, would end up in deep Blight if someone makes a silly mistake. I can't enjoy my resignation if I allow those raw inexperienced recruits to take over my job.
So whatever. I'll just keep slogging and see if I'm good for another year.
I'll look for a chance and talk to my supervisor about this.
I thought about my next post. They can literally assign me anywhere ... that's not too cold. I don't want to end up in a place where I gotta keep myself warm throughout the year.
