Ruins Researcher's Letters
Ten years, thirty major excavations... Master, I still haven't found anything.
I did think about giving up. I asked Songseekers at the Hannabit Circuit, trying to understand what their earliest masters glimpsed in that frozen desolation. I even asked the young ones at the Cabal, but found no answers.
How utterly despairing.
Back then, I felt that science, research, the history of Talos-II, Precursor technology... All of it, everything, was just a chaotic, hopeless "endlessness".
But my perspective later changed.
How do the people of Talos-II see us? How do they view HAS? Many believe we're always at the cutting edge of technology, and that's true. But most don't see us as lofty researchers floating above the clouds.
At a small pioneer settlement out in the wildlands, after they used an HAS device to purify a spring, their smiles made me realize: the greater purpose of HAS's technology and our research, is to help people live better lives.
You would know this better than I do. After all, during your most active era, HAS achieved the goal of supplying the vast majority of the Civilization Band's food.
............
Master, I will walk this path of research joyfully until the very end of my life.
Therefore, I humbly ask you to lower your gaze as well, and look toward the ground.
Also, Master, this time could you please not just reply with a single "Approved" and make me pay the postage?
