Cabal of Tranquility
The Cabal of Tranquility is a technocratic organization that inherited aspects of the Lateran faith. Its current headquarters is the Monasterium, a nomadic city.
For more than a century, Cabal clerics have devoted themselves to restoring Terran technologies lost during the First Aggeloi War, excavating various locations of Talos-II in search of Precursor ruins, and providing spiritual guidance to the people. The Cabal of Tranquility has accumulated a vast number of technological patents approved by the Band Accord. However, the Cabal has made most of its technological endeavors free for public use within the Civilization Band, and only collects royalties on a small fraction of its patents to cover operational expenses.
Internally, Cabal clerics have organized themselves into three branches following the teachings of their Lateran faith:
The first is the Sessionites, whose clerics restored the Terran technology of Originium-based micro-electronics from the ruins of the First Aggeloi War. Their efforts helped the signatories of the Band Accord re-establish the modern communication network. Technical support from Sessionite clerics is indispensable for portable terminals (handyterms), drones, and even the master control system of Dijiang.
The second is the Resurgonites. Outsiders may regard this branch as the military arm of the Cabal of Tranquility as it is full of clerics clad in heavy armor and wielding heavy guns and cannons. The Resurgonites are charged with the defense of Cabal temples. They also actively take part in the excavation of Precursor ruins. Although they claim their goal is to "restore the Holy City", not every action is an act of faith. Some simply enjoy this way of life.
The third faction is the Veritarites, whose clerics place faith above all else. By the time these clerics first journeyed to Talos-II, the great upheaval of the Holy City had already transformed the Lateran faith itself. The Veritarites are committed to healing the long-term psychological trauma suffered by the Civilization Band following the collapse of the Cosmic Gate. Through spiritual guidance and public charity campaigns, they seek to restore human connections and compose a new chapter in theological philosophy on Talos-II.
