Tide Flayer Test Run 13:
The test run results were less than ideal. Perhaps the compressive density of the Xiranite was off and needed adjustment. This run also took far longer than expected, and I'm running out of Xiranite from the last shipment. Things don't look good... I wonder if Chun He just got lucky with her applications.

Tide Flayer Test Run 17:
Another accident... We were so close. The structural integrity of the whip gave way before it could strike the Blight Core. Proper targeting could not be achieved... Where did we go wrong? I would have found out if I hadn't been interrupted by the people from the Research Labs...
Oh well... Projects aren't completed in a single day. Fortunately, I have Chun He on the team. The lass is smart, gifted, and a hardworking learner. Even if I fail to complete the Tide Flayer project, she could succeed where I left off...
Oh dear, did I just lose faith in myself? This is ridiculous. We're so close to completing the Tide Flayer. I will see it completed!

Tide Flayer Test Run 20:
The Tide Flayer can now maintain its structural integrity in the Blight, even at high depth readings! A true breakthrough! Unfortunately, we're out of Xiranite. I don't know when the next test run can begin. Say... I wonder where Chun He has gone... I haven't seen the lass for a while... The weather's getting colder too...

Tide Flayer Test Run 22:
This is it! I've fallen short! Preposterous! Why did I spend so many years on this pursuit only to find this answer? Was it all for nothing? If the Tide Flayer couldn't locate the Blight Core, how could we ever hope to take out the Blight? This is utterly pathetic!
I see no point in continuing this project... It's over. This is where it ends. Chun He ... that poor girl still has faith in me ... but all I did was delay her entire career. She deserves far better. Speaking of which, when was the last time she returned to the lab...?
