Comm Log: A Sentimental One
......
A21: Ten years. I'd almost forgotten what this place looks like. I could only remember that there used to be a bulletin board right against this wall.
A21: The team said we're taking a group photo after the testing. I even told my labmates to wear something nice. They replied by saying nobody has formal attire. So I suggested taking a photo at a nice place, then they made me choose.
A21: The bulletin board was the first thing that came to mind. It had good lighting and open spaces. A photographer would only need to work on the angles. And we could fit everybody in our huge team.
Stovemaster: Come on, Old Liu. Talk about sth else.
A21: But I gotta get it off my chest.
......
A21: There was this KABAM and I was the only one left alive. It ripped apart the entire place like paper. I'm decent with the Arts, so I quickly encrusted myself in stone, rammed my way out of the Labs, and rolled down the slope. I turned around and saw half of the team melting into the Blight. The notices posted on the board flew all over the place. One of them rested near my feet. I remember it being a power outage notification...
......
A21: That sight is terrible. I can hardly bring myself to eat ice cream ... or even see ice melting. So many died, and I can hardly recall their faces. But that notice ... I don't know why but I still remember it... It keeps showing up in my dreams, resting near my feet every time. And I still see every single word.
A21: "A 2-HOUR power outage has been scheduled for the Research Labs storage room for circuitry repairs." I don't know why, but these words haunted me for ten whole years. They've been burned into my memories.
A21: I never knew I could make it out.
Stovemaster: Me too. I only managed to bring a sapling with me back then. I planted it at the Reservoir Station. I thought it was my only way to remember my family for the rest of my life.
Stovemaster: We've returned. This time for real. You gotta look forward, Old Liu. Don't dwell in the past.
